4. Modified radical mastectomy: This surgery removes the entire breast tissue along with the nipple and lymph nodes in the armpit. The breast or chest muscles are not touched. In many cases, patients who undergo this surgery are breast reconstruction done using tissue from your abdomen or using a breast prosthesis (an artificial piece.)
